TPS के हो?

अस्थायी संरक्षित स्थिति (TPS) संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिकामा पहिल्यैदेखि रहेका व्यक्तिहरूका लागि एक प्रकारको अध्यागमन स्थिति हो। TPS भनेको सशस्त्र द्वन्द्व वा वातावरणीय विपत्तिजस्ता खतराका कारण आफ्नो देश फर्कन नसक्ने व्यक्तिहरूका लागि हो।

तपाईंसँग TPS छ भने तपाईं निम्न कार्य गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ:

• कानुनी रूपमा अमेरिकामा केही समय बस्छु।
• अमेरिकामा काम गर्न चाहिने अनुमति पत्रका लागि आवेदन दिनुहोस्
• Apply to travel outside the U.S.
• हिरासत र निर्वासनबाट सुरक्षित रहनुहोस्।

You will not get any of the benefits of TPS until your application is approved. TPS is temporary. It does not give you lawful permanent status, citizenship, or any permanent immigration status.

New applicants

Who can apply

You must meet the following requirements:

• Be a national of Cameroon or a person without nationality who lived in Cameroon for a long time before arriving in the USA
• Have lived only in the U.S. since October 5, 2023
• Did not take trips outside the U.S. after December 8, 2023 that might impact eligibility

You may not be eligible if you have committed certain crimes.

How to apply

You can apply for TPS Cameroon by filing Form I-821. You can file your application online or by mail with USCIS.

You must send documents showing proof of your identity, nationality, and date of entry. These are listed in the What to File section.

You must pay a fee if you are applying for TPS for the first time. You might be able to apply for a fee waiver if you can’t afford to pay the fee. Learn how to use the USCIS fee calculator.

It is important to apply as soon as possible. The last day to apply is June 7, 2025, but that is also the last day TPS for Cameroon is currently available.

What happens next

USCIS will review your application and send you a receipt notice. You can check the status of your application online by typing in your receipt number.

You may get a letter asking for more evidence. This could be your photo, fingerprints, signature, and other documents.

You will get a letter approving or denying your application. If you applied for a work permit, you will also get information about your application.

If you do not get TPS, you will get information on whether and how you can appeal their decision.

Current TPS holders

If you already have TPS for Cameroon under a previous designation, you must have re-registered by December 9, 2023, to extend your benefits to June 7, 2025.

श्रम स्वीकृति

Work permits are available to people with TPS and are known as an Employment Authorization Document (EAD). It shows employers that you are allowed to work in the USA.

You can apply for work authorization by filing Form I-765. It is recommended to apply at the same time you apply for TPS. Filing both forms together may help you get an EAD faster. You can also apply after.

TPS को म्याद सकिएपछि के हुन्छ?

DHS will review country conditions at least 60 before it is set to expire. They will decide whether to continue it further. If TPS Cameroon expires, you will have the same immigration status you had before getting temporary protected status.

यदि तपाईंले TPS को लागि आवेदन गर्नु अघि तपाईंसँग कानुनी अध्यागमन स्थिति थिएन भने, तपाईं कागजातविहीन हुन सक्नुहुन्छ। यदि तपाईं योग्य छौ भने तपाईंले अर्को प्रकारको अध्यागमन स्थितिको लागि आवेदन दिन सक्नुहुन्छ। तपाईं कुनै पनि कानुनी स्थितिविना नै बस्नुहुन्छ भने तपाईं गिरफ्तारी वा निर्वासनको जोखिममा पर्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

कम मेरो आप्रवासन स्थिति परिवर्तन गर्न सक्छु?

तपाईं अर्को अध्यागमन स्थितिको रूपमा एकै समयमा TPS प्राप्त गर्न सक्नुहुन्छ।

तपाईं ती आवेदनहरू दिनका लागि मापदण्डहरू पूरा गर्नुहुन्छ भने तपाईं शरण, वैध स्थायी स्थिति (ग्रीन कार्ड), वा अन्य संरक्षित स्थिति का लागि आवेदन दिन सक्नुहुन्छ।

म मद्दत कहाँ पाउन सक्छु?

अध्यागमन वकिलल वा मान्यता प्राप्त प्रतिनिधिबाट कानुनी सल्लाह लिनु महत्त्वपूर्ण हुन्छ। उनीहरू तपाईंलाई आवेदन गर्न र प्रश्न वा चिन्ताहरू छलफल गर्न मद्दत गर्न सक्छन्। धेरै संस्था र वकिलहरूले निःशुल्क वा कम लागतमा कानुनी सेवाहरू उपलब्ध गराउँछन्।
